Children must be 5 years old by August 31st to enter Kindergarten.
It's important to register your soon-to-be Kindergarten student so we can plan ahead for the 2020-2021 school year so we can secure the number of classrooms and teachers needed for the fall enrollment. If you have friends, relatives or neighbors who live in Stoughton, and will be registering a kindergarten age child, please pass on this information.
Kindergarten registration for ALL SCHOOLS will take place in the gym at the Edwin A. Jones Early Childhood Center located at 137 Walnut Street on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM & 6:00 – 7:30 PM. Translators will be available. If you don't register your child on registration day, please contact your child's school as soon as possible.
Kindergarten information and English registration paperwork will be mailed to families on the Town of Stoughton Census the week after February vacation. If you don't receive it, or if you would like Portuguese or French copies, they will be available on March 5, 2020 at each elementary school office and at the bottom of the District's K Registration webpage here: https://www.stoughtonschools.org/district/administration/pages/kindergar...
Please plan ahead and get your child's ORIGINAL birth certificate from the town or city hall in the location where your child was born. You will also need 2 proofs of residency, such as a current lease or mortgage statement and a current utility bill, and your child's most recent immunization record. This requirement also applies to students who currently attend the Jones Preschool program.
Kindergarten Orientation will be in June 2020. Please check your child's school website for the day and time because they vary per school. This orientation is for parents/guardians and incoming students. The date will be announced in the spring.
After your child is registered, be sure to check the school web site for visiting days before school starts in September 2020.
Kindergarten Registration must be complete in order to enter on September 2020. Until a student's registration is complete, he/she will not be assigned to a classroom and may not begin in September 2020.
Families of new students in Grades 1 - 5 can print and fill out the paperwork at the bottom of this page before registering at the Wilkins School office.
This map shows each elementary school district by streets. If you are unsure about your child’s school location, please contact any of the elementary schools. They will be able to help you.
Wilkins School families who have questions about Kindergarten registration can contact the school office at 1322 Central Street, or call 781 344-7005.
